Law and order situation in Unakoti district raises questions again, says MLA Birjit Sinha!
Once again, the law and order situation in Unakoti district has come under scrutiny with MLA Birjit Sinha of the 53rd constituency of Kailashahar raising questions. Speaking to journalists this morning, he strongly asserted that the security arrangements in the district have completely collapsed and the administration’s incompetent attitude is causing fear among the common people.
MLA Birjit Sinha stated, “A few days ago, I had said that there is no law and order in Unakoti district. In response to my claim, the district police superintendent had stated that law and order is intact in Unakoti district and the administration is functioning. But the reality is quite the opposite.”
He cited an example, mentioning that on the night of August 5th, theft incidents occurred simultaneously in five educational institutions in Kailashahar sub-division. These institutions included Radhakishor Institution, Ramkrishna Education Institution, Sreerampur Suryamani School, Dhanbilas Higher Secondary School, and Dhanbilas Anganwadi Center. These theft incidents in five institutions at the same time have spread widespread fear throughout the district.
MLA Sinha questioned, “Is this law and order? Five schools being robbed on the same night and until now, the police administration has not been able to catch a single thief. This is not just a failure of the administration, it is beyond incompetence.” He announced that he will inform the Director General of State Police in writing about this situation and demand immediate steps to restore law and order in Unakoti district.
MLA Birjit Sinha’s comments and the effectiveness of the police force have sparked intense discussions in the administrative circle of the district. Now, it remains to be seen how the state police or the higher authorities of the administration react to this matter.
