A tragic incident unfolded in the Sepahijala district as a 46-year-old man, Narul Islam, allegedly took his own life after brutally injuring his wife and daughter-in-law with a sharp object. The authorities confirmed this heartbreaking news on Saturday, October 11.
Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das revealed that Narul’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from a tree in a forested area at Bardowal, which falls under the jurisdiction of Sonamura Police Station. It was reported that Narul, who had recently returned home after spending eight years in a West Asian country, carried out the brutal attack at his residence before fleeing and ultimately ending his own life in the nearby forest.
Sources suggest that the horrific incident may have been fueled by a financial dispute. Narul was said to be deeply upset after discovering that his wife had transferred money he had sent from abroad to another man, who she allegedly had a relationship with.
Following the ordeal, both the wife and daughter-in-law are currently receiving medical treatment at GBP Hospital for their multiple injuries. The authorities have initiated an unnatural death case and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The community is left in shock and mourning as they come to terms with the devastating loss and the brutal violence that occurred. The authorities are urging anyone with information or leads to come forward to help shed light on this tragic event.
