Former Tripura Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb made controversial statements on Tuesday, October 21, referring to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as a ‘demon’ and claiming that the people of the state are prepared to overthrow her in order to uphold human values.
Deb, who currently serves as the BJP’s Election Co-incharge in West Bengal, voiced his opinions while speaking at Agartala after performing puja at Indranagar Kali Bari.
In his remarks, Deb accused Banerjee of transforming into a demon and lacking compassion and empathy. He expressed disbelief at a woman behaving in such a manner and condemned the rising incidents of violence, including murder, rape, and attacks on homes, under her leadership. Deb went on to criticize Banerjee’s name, suggesting that it had become synonymous with infamy and lacked human values.
Furthermore, Deb claimed that the people of West Bengal are eager to rid themselves of what he described as misrule under the Trinamool Congress. He shared that he had conducted five meetings in the state to gauge public sentiment and believed that the residents were ready for a change in leadership. Deb also accused Banerjee and her associates of engaging in corruption and illegal activities, such as dealings with land mafias.
In conclusion, Deb emphasized that the BJP would fight for the preservation of human values in West Bengal and assured that victory would belong to the public who sought liberation from what he deemed a demonic administration.
