Constable Amir Khan Bhuiya, who is currently serving in West Tripura, has been suspended by the Tripura Police amidst allegations of bribery. The suspension comes following the registration of a criminal case against Bhuiya and four others under Amtali PS Case No. 2025/AMT/111, dated October 26, 2025. The case has been filed under various sections of the BNS Act, 2023.
The allegations against Constable Bhuiya include gross misconduct and involvement in illegal activities during his time at the office of the Superintendent of Police, West Tripura. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him in addition to the criminal proceedings.
In accordance with the suspension order issued by West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Constable Bhuiya will be stationed at the A.D. Nagar Police Lines under the supervision of the AC DAR, West Tripura during the suspension period. He is expected to comply with departmental regulations and maintain discipline.
Throughout the suspension period, Constable Bhuiya will be entitled to receive subsistence allowances as per existing rules. Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing as Tripura Police takes necessary actions to address the allegations of bribery and misconduct within the force.
