The Meteorological Centre in Agartala has released its report on Tripura’s rainfall for the month of October 2025, stating that the overall rainfall in the state remained within the “normal” range. Despite a marginal deficit of 5% from the long-term average, Tripura received 151.4 mm of rainfall compared to the normal 159.2 mm.
Bagafa in South Tripura district recorded the highest amount of rainfall in the state, with a total of 357.6 mm during the month. This station also reported the highest single-day rainfall of 176.4 mm on October 14.
In terms of district-wise rainfall, South Tripura experienced the heaviest rainfall at 276.2 mm, which was 61% above normal. On the other hand, Unakoti district recorded the lowest rainfall at 81.2 mm, showing a deficit of 49%.
Temperature data from the month indicated slightly warmer-than-usual conditions in Tripura. The maximum temperature at Agartala Airport reached 34.8°C on October 22 and 23, with an average mean maximum of 33.1°C, which was 1.3°C higher than normal. The lowest minimum temperature recorded was 23.0°C on October 13, with the mean minimum temperature standing at 24.8°C, 1.8°C above normal.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) defines rainfall within ±19% of the long-term average as “normal.” Based on this classification, the IMD concluded that the weather in Tripura during October was typical for the post-monsoon season, characterized by moderate rainfall and slightly elevated temperatures. Overall, Tripura experienced a month of relatively normal weather conditions.
