Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha recently presided over a crucial organisational meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Agartala on November 9. The meeting was convened to evaluate the party’s readiness for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections and to assess the internal structure of the BJP.
In attendance at the meeting were BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya, general secretary Amit Rakshit, former MP Rebati Tripura, as well as vice presidents and leaders of various party wings. The discussions during the meeting were centered around enhancing the party’s organization at all levels in preparation for the forthcoming polls.
After the meeting, Chief Minister Saha addressed reporters and highlighted that the focus was on strengthening the party’s organization. “We discussed various organizational matters. The local body elections and the TTAADC elections are on the horizon, and we deliberated on these important issues,” he said. Saha also made it clear that there were no discussions regarding alliances during the meeting, underscoring that the primary goal was to reinforce the party’s structure.
It is important to note that the TTAADC is currently under the governance of the Tipra Motha Party, which recently formed an alliance with the BJP in Tripura. The upcoming elections are expected to be a litmus test for the coalition’s political understanding and the BJP’s influence in tribal areas. As preparations continue for the TTAADC elections, the BJP is working diligently to solidify its position and expand its reach in the region.
