The two-day international conference on Sustainable Hill Farming Aims: Innovation for Profitability and Environmental Balance to Ensure Future Livelihoods kicked off at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala on Thursday. The event, organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Indian Association of Hill Farming, aims to bring together experts, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss innovative practices in hill farming that can ensure both profitability and environmental sustainability for the future.
The conference was officially inaugurated by Minister Animesh Debbarma, who highlighted the importance of sustainable hill farming in ensuring food security and livelihoods in hilly regions. Jitendra Majumder, MLA of Kakraban Assembly Constituency, also graced the event with his presence, emphasizing the need for collaboration and knowledge sharing in the field of hill farming.
Dr. B.U Chowdhury, Head of the ICAR Tripura Center, along with other key figures in the agriculture sector, were also in attendance to share their insights and experiences.
