Agartala Mayor Deepak Majumdar visited Durga Chowmuhani Market to inspect the site and review the proposal for setting up a slaughter house within the market premises. The inspection was carried out to assess feasibility, infrastructure requirements, and hygiene-related aspects of the proposed project.
Following the inspection, the Mayor addressed the media and provided detailed information on the matter. He stated that the initiative is being examined with a focus on maintaining cleanliness, ensuring public health standards, and regulating meat processing in an organised manner.
Mayor Majumdar emphasised that consultations with market stakeholders, traders, and health officials will be undertaken before taking any final decision.
