Agartala, Tripura: To commemorate the 163rd foundation day of Umakanta Academy, the Umakanta Alumni Association organised a colourful procession on Sunday, celebrating the institution’s long legacy of education and excellence.
The rally began from the Umakanta Academy परिसर and passed through various parts of the city before concluding at the school premises. Alumni participation ranged from young students to senior former students—symbolically described as “from eight to eighty”—reflecting the deep emotional bond shared by generations with the institution.
The procession witnessed enthusiastic participation from present and former students, creating a festive and nostalgic atmosphere across the city. The event highlighted the academy’s historic contribution to education and social development in Tripura.
Present on the occasion were Umakanta Alumni Association President Shubhrata Deb, former president and senior advocate Sandip Dutta Bhowmik, and General Secretary Shubhashish Majumder, along with other alumni members. The leaders praised the unity and spirit of the alumni community and emphasized the importance of preserving the heritage and values of Umakanta Academy.
Organisers stated that the foundation day celebration serves not only as a remembrance of the institution’s rich past but also as an inspiration for future generations to uphold its legacy.
