“Pillars of Stability”: Governor’s Address
During his keynote speech, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu emphasized that the peaceful atmosphere in Tripura today is a direct result of the tireless vigil maintained by the Army and the Assam Rifles.
”The Indian Army and the Assam Rifles are not just security forces; they are integral partners in Tripura’s journey of progress. Whether it is safeguarding our borders or standing with the people during natural disasters and social crises, their dedication is unparalleled. These citations are a small token of gratitude from the people of Tripura for their selfless service,” the Governor remarked.
Focus on Regional Security and Community Outreach
Beyond the awards, the ceremony served as a platform for high-level discussions on the regional security landscape.
Key Discussion Points:
- Border Stability: Strategies to maintain tranquility along the international border and coordinate with other agencies to prevent trans-border crimes.
- Civil-Military Cooperation: The Governor lauded the “Civic Action Programs” led by the Assam Rifles, including health camps, educational support for tribal youth, and rural infrastructure projects.
- Operational Synergy: Brigadier Dhiraj Kumar Singh briefed the Governor on the 73 Mountain Brigade’s preparedness and the ongoing synergy between the Army and state police.
A Legacy of Service
The 35 Assam Rifles has long been a household name in Tripura for its community-centric policing and ‘Friends of the Hill People’ philosophy. Similarly, the presence of the 637 SATA Battery underscores the strategic military importance of the state in India’s Eastern Command.
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, leaving a strong message of unity between the state’s constitutional head and the armed forces.
