News Report:
Agartala, Tripura: Protests were staged on Saturday in front of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission office in Agartala by members of the Sanatani Hindu Sena, condemning the brutal killing of Hindu citizen Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh district of Bangladesh.
The demonstrators alleged that minorities, particularly Hindus, are being selectively targeted in Bangladesh and also raised concerns over what they described as growing anti-India sentiment across the border. Protesters raised slogans demanding justice for the victim and strong action against those responsible for the killing.
It may be noted that a similar protest was organised a day earlier at the same location by the Youth Tipra Federation, condemning attacks on minorities in Bangladesh and recent developments perceived as hostile towards India.
During Saturday’s protest, participants voiced strong opposition to religious extremism and called for its eradication. Security personnel were deployed in and around the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission to ensure law and order, and the demonstration concluded peacefully.
Police officials maintained that the situation remained under control and appealed to the public to express dissent in a lawful and peaceful manner.
