Agartala: The Tripura Pradesh Mahila Congress on Monday organised a protest demonstration demanding strict punishment for the culprits involved in the Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand and calling for a fair and transparent judicial process.
Raising slogans and holding placards, Mahila Congress members condemned the brutal killing of Ankita Bhandari, terming it a grave crime against women and a symbol of growing insecurity faced by women across the country. The protesters alleged that influential people were trying to weaken the course of justice and demanded immediate accountability.
Leaders of the organisation said the protest was aimed at drawing national attention to the case and pressing authorities to ensure that the guilty receive exemplary punishment, so that such crimes are not repeated. They further stated that justice delayed would amount to justice denied and warned of intensified agitation if demands are not met.
The Mahila Congress reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding women’s rights and vowed to continue its struggle until justice is delivered.
