Tripura’s royal scion Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma on Monday met the family of Lt. Anjel Chakma and assured them of all possible support in their fight for justice.Sharing the details on social media, Pradyot said it has been over a month since Anjel was brutally assaulted in Dehradun and later succumbed to his injuries. “It has been more than a month since the brutal assault and eventual death. I will stand with the family no matter what,” he wrote.Anjel Chakma, a 24-year-old MBA student from Tripura, was allegedly attacked in Dehradun in what is suspected to be a racially motivated incident. He fought for life for over a month before passing away, triggering widespread outrage across Tripura and the Northeast.The incident led to protests, candlelight vigils, and strong demands for swift justice. Several suspects have been arrested so far, and the investigation is continuing under close public and legal scrutiny.Pradyot’s visit was welcomed by the grieving family and community leaders, who described it as a strong message of solidarity and a renewed call for ensuring the safety of students from the Northeast across the country.
