AGARTALA: In a vibrant celebration of academic beginnings and professional commitment, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, graced the Fresher’s Welcome ceremony for the new batches of Agartala Government Dental College (AGDC) and IGM Hospital. The event was held today at the Muktadhara Auditorium, Agartala, commencing at 10:00 AM.

The auditorium was packed with enthusiastic students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals as the Chief Minister was received with traditional honors. The program, organized to integrate the new medical and dental students into the professional fraternity, highlighted Tripura’s rapid strides in medical education infrastructure.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Manik Saha, who is himself a renowned dental surgeon, shared a deeply personal connection with the students.
“Becoming a doctor is not just about earning a degree; it is a lifelong commitment to service. Our government has worked tirelessly to ensure that students in Tripura no longer need to leave the state for high-quality medical and dental education. AGDC and IGM Hospital are now beacons of excellence in the Northeast,” Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stated during his inaugural address.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government is prioritizing the “One Health” approach, ensuring that medical institutions are equipped with modern research facilities and digital learning tools in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
