The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) organized a massive Janajati Sammelan (Tribal Youth Conference) today at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala. The event served as a platform to discuss the role of indigenous youth in nation-building and the preservation of tribal heritage.
The conference was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha as the Chief Guest, alongside former Member of Parliament Shri Rebati Tripura and other prominent youth leaders.
Empowering the Next Generation
Addressing a hall packed with tribal students and activists from various parts of the state, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized that the overall development of Tripura is impossible without the active participation of the Janajati community.
”Our government is working on the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’ The Janajati youth are no longer just followers; they are leaders in education, sports, and technology. ABVP’s initiative to bring them together to discuss their future is highly commendable,” the Chief Minister stated.
Preserving Culture and Identity
Former MP Shri Rebati Tripura spoke about the importance of rootedness. He urged the students to embrace modern education while staying deeply connected to their traditional customs, languages, and folklore. He noted that the central and state governments have taken historic steps to recognize unsung tribal heroes of the Northeast.
