Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Adani Group director Jeet Adani met on April 13 to discuss investments worth Rs 50,000 crore that the conglomerate had proposed during the state’s business summit in February. Sarma expressed his optimism that the proposals put forth by the Adani Group for investments in various sectors would soon come to fruition.
“During #AdvantageAssam2, the Adani Group made a Rs 50,000 crore investment commitment. Today, along with my senior officers, we had an in-depth meeting with Mr. Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Group, and his team to operationalize this commitment,” Sarma shared in a post on social media.
“We expect the MoUs which we signed related to significant investments in developing an aero-city, hotels, a cement plant, and key infrastructure projects, will take off soon,” he added.
The investments are expected to boost the economic development of Assam and create job opportunities for the local population. The proposed projects include the development of an aero-city, construction of hotels, establishment of a cement plant, and implementation of key infrastructure projects.
The meeting between Sarma and Adani signifies a step forward in the process of bringing these investments to fruition. The Adani Group’s commitment to investing in Assam is seen as a positive development for the state’s economy and demonstrates the potential for growth and development in various sectors.
