The Central Agricultural University in Tripura is gearing up for its fifth convocation ceremony on May 11, with the prestigious event set to be graced by Dr. V. Narayan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Secretary of the Department of Space, Government of India.
In a press conference held on campus, Professor A.B. Patil, Dean of the Fishery College, announced the arrival of Dr. V. Narayan as the Chief Guest for the convocation. The ceremony will also see the presence of Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Kumar Joshi, Chancellor of CAU (Imphal), and Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of the university.
Prof. Patil emphasized the importance of the occasion, highlighting that the university currently oversees 13 colleges spread across six northeastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Tripura – with a student population exceeding 3,000.
To kick off the convocation celebrations, a business meet featuring 26 selected students from the 13 constituent colleges will be held on May 9. Additionally, a cultural evening showcasing the rich heritage of the region is scheduled for May 10, adding a touch of local flavor to the event.
The presence of Dr. V. Narayan from ISRO is expected to add a special touch to the convocation ceremony, underscoring the university’s commitment to excellence in the field of agriculture and research.
