AGARTALA | July 1, 2026: In a major administrative push to optimize social security delivery grids for the financial year 2026–27, the Minister for Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) and Scheduled Castes (SC) Welfare, Shri Sudhangshu Das, today chaired a high-level state-level review meeting in the capital city. The executive session was hosted at the conference hall of the State Guest House (Sonartari) in Agartala.
The critical convention brought together directorate chiefs, district welfare officers, and project supervisors to evaluate the structural success rates and implementation status of various ongoing projects under the SC Welfare Department.
Auditing Fiscal Targets and Grassroots Project Delivery
During the comprehensive review, Minister Sudhangshu Das audited the department’s performance logs and data sets for the current financial year. He emphasized that the primary goal of the department must shift toward fast-tracking resource allocations and ensuring that benefits under central and state-sponsored schemes reach the most marginalized families in rural blocks without operational delays.
The panel also mapped out a clear execution timeline for the remaining quarters of FY 2026–27, focusing heavily on education stipends and income-generation avenues.
”We have gathered at the Sonartari State Guest House today to minutely examine the progress files of the SC Welfare Department for the 2026–27 fiscal year. While we have achieved significant milestones in upgrading rural infrastructure and distributing student stipends, there is absolutely no room for complacency. I have issued strict, clear directives to all departmental officers to cut down on red tape and ensure zero-lag delivery. Every single scheme designed for the upliftment of the Scheduled Caste community must show visible, highly transparent results on the ground,” Minister Sudhangshu Das shared with the press pools.
Key Focus Areas and Resolutions Settled at the Review
The directorate leadership and the Minister finalized several immediate action protocols during the technical session:
- Scholarship Optimization: Streamlining the online verification pipelines to expedite the direct bank transfer (DBT) of post-matric and pre-matric scholarships to SC students.
- Livelihood Generation Schemes: Instructing field officers to work closely with the ARDD sector to integrate animal husbandry and poultry-farming packages as sustainable income channels for rural SC youth.
- Infrastructure Fund Tracking: Auditing the utilization metrics of special development funds allocated for upgrading water systems and community halls in high-density backward community pockets.
The state-level meeting wrapped up with the Minister warning line officers that strict administrative action would be initiated against any negligence or delay in executing public utility and social welfare schemes.
