Tripura Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, recently had a productive meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi. The focus of their discussion was on the necessity of increasing the ceiling limit for Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) in the state. Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of this adjustment, citing that several vital projects in areas such as Urban Development, Tourism, and the Agartala Municipal Corporation have been hindered by the current restrictions.
In a social media post following the meeting, Dr. Saha expressed his concerns and highlighted the urgent need for action. He stated, “Met Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji in New Delhi today. Discussed the need for enhancing the ceiling limit of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs), since a number of crucial projects under Urban Development, Tourism, and the Agartala Municipal Corporation are awaiting progress due to the present ceiling restriction.”
The discussions between the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister revolved around the necessity of expediting key infrastructure and development projects in Tripura. By raising the ceiling limit for EAPs, the state aims to facilitate the swifter implementation of various initiatives related to urban development, tourism, and municipal infrastructure in Agartala and other regions.
In addition to his meeting with the Finance Minister, Dr. Saha also met with BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh at the party headquarters in New Delhi. These engagements reflect the ongoing efforts of the Tripura government to secure increased financial and administrative assistance from the Centre to drive forward the state’s development priorities. The government is committed to ensuring that Tripura continues to progress and thrive.
