The Tripura government has stepped forward to support flood relief efforts in Himachal Pradesh by announcing a contribution of Rs 5 crore on September 5. Chief Minister Manik Saha revealed that he spoke with Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to express solidarity with the people of the state during this challenging time.
Himachal Pradesh has been severely impacted by 133 major landslides, 95 flash floods, and 45 cloudbursts since the monsoon season began on June 20. The recent devastating floods have caused significant damage, leading to loss of lives and destruction of property.
In a statement on Facebook, Chief Minister Saha expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families who have suffered losses due to the floods in Himachal Pradesh. He emphasized the importance of standing together during times of distress and highlighted the need for support from neighboring states.
“On behalf of the people of Tripura, we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters in Himachal Pradesh. To aid in the relief efforts, the Government of Tripura is contributing Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Himachal Pradesh,” Chief Minister Saha stated.
The contribution from Tripura will help support the ongoing relief efforts in Himachal Pradesh and provide assistance to those affected by the floods. The gesture of solidarity between the two states showcases the spirit of unity and support during times of crisis.
