Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury recently participated in the National Tourism Ministers’ Conference organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The conference aimed to foster collaboration between the Central and State Governments to enhance sustainable tourism, embrace digital transformation, and develop unique tourist destinations across the country.
During the conference, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the importance of sharing ideas and best practices to help India establish itself as a leading global tourism destination. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister of Rajasthan Diya Kumari, Lieutenant Governors of different Union Territories, Tourism Ministers from all States, and senior government officials.
Minister Chowdhury engaged in productive discussions with Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on tourism development, exchanging ideas to promote tourism in Tripura and Rajasthan. He also extended an invitation to Diya Kumari to visit Tripura’s picturesque and culturally rich tourist spots.
Highlighting Tripura’s potential as an emerging tourism destination in Northeast India, Minister Chowdhury reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting the national vision of positioning India as a premier global travel destination. The conference served as a platform for key stakeholders to collaborate and work towards the common goal of promoting tourism in India.
