The Light House Project in Tripura, a housing initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), has received a much-needed boost with the allocation of Rs 14.96 crore from the Central government. This funding will help the Tripura Urban Planning and Development Authority (TUDA) to expedite the completion of the project, aimed at providing permanent homes to economically weaker and low-income families in the state.
Despite facing challenges such as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state’s geographic location, and last year’s flooding, the Tripura government remains committed to finishing the Light House Project at the earliest. Chief Minister Manik Saha has been actively involved in discussions with the concerned Union Minister to ensure the project’s progress.
The Central aid of Rs 14.96 crore comes at a crucial time for Tripura, allowing the state to overcome financial constraints and move forward with the construction of much-needed housing for vulnerable communities. The completion of the Light House Project will not only provide shelter to those in need but also contribute to the overall development and well-being of Tripura’s residents.
