On Sunday afternoon, the police in Champaknagar under Jiraniya Thana recovered the body of an 11-year-old girl from the Barmura Khamthing area. The Officer-in-Charge of Champaknagar Police Station, Sanjay Debbarma, led the operation to retrieve the body. Two minors have been detained for questioning in connection with the investigation into this incident.
The Jiraniya Thana police, led by OC Raju Dutta, revealed this information to the media on Sunday night. However, local sources have reported that the 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered before her body was dumped in the Barmura Khamthing area. So far, no complaints have been filed by the family of the victim in relation to this incident.
While there has been no official response from the police regarding the rape allegations, the police have not disclosed the names or addresses of the detained minors. It is speculated that the girl may have been sexually assaulted before being murdered.
