Tripura’s Gorar village is abuzz with the news of the Chief Minister’s nephew, Sumon Biswas, being arrested for drug possession. The arrest took place on Sunday night at the Rajnagar Legislative Assembly center where the police were able to apprehend Biswas with a quantity of narcotics.
Biswas, who is known for his involvement in the drug trade in the area, has been a prominent figure in both the drug and smuggling business. His arrest has sparked outrage among locals and political leaders in the region. The police had been investigating Biswas for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
The arrest of Biswas comes as a major blow to the local community, as he was known to be a key player in the drug trade in the area. Additionally, another individual, Chandan Devnath, was also arrested on the same day under similar charges.
Both Biswas and Devnath have been charged under sections 129(G) and 126BMS of the Indian Penal Code for their involvement in drug trafficking. The police have taken swift action in apprehending these individuals and have vowed to continue cracking down on illegal drug activities in the region.
