Four monkeys and a guava thief were caught red-handed while trying to flee from the Kanchan Bari area of Fotikaray in Taroni Nagar. The incident took place near the residence of the local mayor of Taroni Nagar.

Some locals caught two young men brutally killing monkeys and stuffing them into bags in an attempt to flee. However, some compassionate and vigilant individuals in society witnessed the incident and intervened, leading to the arrest of the two young men.
Two more individuals who were with them managed to escape from the area. Later, they were handed over to the forest department officials. The incident showcased the respect and adherence of the local people towards wildlife conservation and forest laws. This incident once again proved that without the initiative of conscious citizens, the protection of nature and wildlife is not possible.
