CPI(M) workers and leaders carried out a protest march on the streets of Agartala today condemning the alleged attack on former MLA Amitabh Dutta and party member Ratan Roy in Dharmanagar. The demonstration witnessed large participation as supporters demanded strict action against those responsible for the assault.
Party leaders accused miscreants of targeting opposition voices and stated that such attacks pose a threat to democratic rights in the state. During the march, CPI(M) members raised slogans calling for accountability, protection of political workers, and immediate intervention by the administration.
The protest culminated with a brief address by senior party functionaries, who reiterated their demand for a fair investigation and urged the government to ensure the safety of all political activists. The CPI(M) leadership stated that the party will continue statewide democratic movements until justice is served.
