AGARTALA | June 20, 2026: To mark the global celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga tomorrow, a vibrant and colorful promotional rally was organized in the capital city today. The mega event was held under the joint initiative of the West District Yoga Association and the Indian Red Cross Society, Tripura State Branch.
The colorful procession aimed to raise awareness about the physical and mental health benefits of practicing yoga daily and to encourage mass participation in tomorrow’s state-wide sessions.
Colorful Procession Marches Through Capital Streets
The rally was formally flagged off from the front premises of the Tuberculosis Association Hall (Kshaya Nibarani Hall) in Agartala. Hundreds of participants, including professional yoga practitioners, student athletes, scouts, healthcare volunteers, and senior citizens, joined the march.
The participants traversed the major thoroughfares of Agartala city, carrying banners, posters, and placard templates illustrating different yoga postures (asanas) and emphasizing this year’s global theme of health and wellness.
The rally concluded at the historic grounds in front of the Ujjayanta Palace, where organizers addressed the gathering.
”Yoga is a timeless gift of Indian heritage that bridges physical health with mental peace. Through this joint street procession with the Red Cross Society, we want to invite every resident of Agartala to step out tomorrow and participate in the International Yoga Day events. Making yoga a part of our daily routine can significantly reduce lifestyle diseases and stress,” an executive member of the West District Yoga Association stated at the concluding venue.
