Agartala, Tripura: As many as 72 families formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday after leaving the Tipra Motha Party and the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT).
The joining ceremony was held at the Tripura Pradesh BJP office, where the new members were welcomed by BJP State General Secretary Bipin Debbarma along with other party leaders. The families were ceremonially inducted into the party by handing over BJP flags, symbolising their formal entry.
Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders said the decision of the families reflected growing public confidence in the party’s policies and leadership. They expressed hope that the new entrants would strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and contribute to the party’s outreach among indigenous communities.
The event concluded with party leaders and workers extending greetings to the newly joined families and reiterating the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development and welfare for all sections of society.
