Agartala, January 7, 2026: A press conference was organized on Wednesday at the Ramthakur Seva Mandir, located in the Banamalipur area of Agartala, to announce the commencement of its Golden Jubilee (50th) Foundation Anniversary celebrations. The briefing was led by the General Secretary of the temple committee, Swapan Kumar Banik, in the presence of other senior members and office bearers.
Commemorating 50 Years of Devotion and Service
Addressing the media, General Secretary Swapan Kumar Banik highlighted the historical significance of the temple, which was established in 1976. To mark this landmark 50th year, the committee has outlined an extensive roadmap of religious, cultural, and social activities that will span the entire year.
Key highlights of the Golden Jubilee celebrations include:
- Grand Religious Festivals: Special puja ceremonies dedicated to Sri Sri Ramthakur, mass prayer sessions (Naam Sankirtan), and spiritual discourses.
- Social Welfare Initiatives: As part of the jubilee, the temple plans to organize blood donation camps, free health check-ups, and clothes distribution drives for the underprivileged.
- Expansion of ‘Prasad’ Services: Special community feasts (Annaprasad) will be held on significant dates throughout the year for all devotees.
- Cultural Programs: Competitive events for children and devotional music evenings featuring local artists.
A Pillar of the Community
The members emphasized that Ramthakur Seva Mandir has not only been a center for spiritual solace but also a hub for community bonding in Banamalipur for half a century. “Our goal for this 50th year is to further the teachings of Sri Sri Ramthakur—emphasizing peace, truth, and service to humanity,” said Swapan Kumar Banik.
The committee extended a warm invitation to all devotees across Tripura to participate in the year-long festivities. Detailed schedules for specific mega-events will be released periodically through the temple’s official channels.
