AGARTALA: Continuing its tradition of humanitarian service, the All Tripura Chemists and Druggists Association (ATCDA) organized a comprehensive free health screening camp today at its office premises on B.K. Road. The initiative, aimed at providing high-end diagnostic services to the citizens of Agartala, saw a significant turnout from residents across the city.
Advanced Diagnostic Services Provided
Unlike standard health camps, today’s event at the ATCDA office focused on specific metabolic and organ-health markers. The association provided several critical tests free of cost, which otherwise carry a high price tag in private laboratories.
The services included:
- Lipid Profile: To monitor cholesterol levels and heart health.
- FibroScan: A non-invasive test used to check the health of the liver and detect fibrosis or fatty liver conditions.
- HbA1c Testing: Providing a three-month average of blood sugar levels for diabetic and pre-diabetic patients.
- General Health Vitals: Blood pressure and BMI monitoring for all visitors.
Commitment to Follow-up Care
Speaking during the event, Biswajit Saha, the General Secretary of the All Tripura Chemists and Druggists Association, emphasized that the association’s responsibility doesn’t end with the tests.
“Our goal is to ensure that the people of Agartala remain proactive about their health. The reports generated today will be analyzed by our panel of experts. For those whose reports show abnormalities, the association will personally arrange and coordinate with specialist doctors to provide further medical guidance and prescriptions,” Secretary Biswajit Saha stated.
A Year-Round Social Mission
The ATCDA has become a vital pillar of social welfare in Tripura, engaging in various charitable activities throughout the year. Beyond diagnostic camps, the association is known for:
- Free Medicine Distribution: Providing life-saving drugs to the underprivileged.
- Blood Donation Drives: Regularly replenishing the state’s blood banks during shortages.
- Public Awareness: Conducting sessions on the rational use of antibiotics and the importance of valid prescriptions.
Residents who attended the camp expressed their gratitude, noting that such initiatives are a huge relief for middle-class and low-income families who often struggle with the rising costs of diagnostic healthcare. The camp concluded in the evening with a commitment from the association to hold more such specialized medical drives in different parts of the state in the coming months.
