CHARILAM: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today visited the Charilam Assembly Constituency to join grassroots workers for the 130th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio program, Mann Ki Baat. Organized at Booth No. 40 under the 19-Charilam Mandal, the event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents and party supporters.
Focus on Development and Civic Duty
Listening to the Prime Minister’s address alongside local karyakartas, the Chief Minister resonated with the PM’s message on National Voters’ Day. Dr. Saha emphasized that the youth of Charilam and Tripura must take pride in their democratic rights.
“The Prime Minister’s vision for 2026 as a ‘Year of Quality’ and his focus on the youth as the architects of Viksit Bharat is a guiding light for us. In Tripura, we are committed to ensuring that the benefits of every central scheme reach the last person in the last booth,” the Chief Minister said.
A Strong Warning to Political Allies
Following the Mann Ki Baat session, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha addressed a gathering where he took a firm stance on the state’s current political climate, particularly concerning the TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council) elections.
In a pointed message aimed at the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), a partner in the ruling alliance, the CM urged them to focus on governance rather than communal rhetoric.
- The “Report Card” Challenge: The CM asked the TMP leadership to present a “report card” of their performance in the ADC to the electorate instead of “fueling communal sentiments.”
- Zero Tolerance for Blockades: Dr. Saha issued a stern warning against disruptive protests and road blockades. “The government will not tolerate unlawful activities in the name of agitation. Those who think they can hold the state to ransom through blockades should remember that the people know their past,” he remarked.
Strengthening the “Double-Engine” Narrative
Highlighting the strength of the BJP, the Chief Minister noted that the party is guided by “guardians” like PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He reiterated that the state government is investing extra funds into backward and tribal areas to ensure holistic development, such as the Matabari Tourism Circuit and improved road connectivity.
Dignitaries in Attendance: The session at Booth No. 40 was attended by several local leaders, including:
- Mandal President and local booth committee members.
- Senior Karyakartas of the 19-Charilam Constituency.
- Representatives from the Janajati (Tribal) Morcha.
The visit to Charilam is seen as a significant move by the Chief Minister to consolidate the party’s base in the Sepahijala district ahead of the upcoming council elections, emphasizing a “Development First” agenda over identity politics.
