The event, which commenced at 5:00 PM, brought together senior administrative officials, newly enrolled voters, and civil society members to celebrate the power of the ballot.
Theme: “My India, My Vote”
This year, National Voters’ Day was celebrated under the national theme “My India, My Vote”, accompanied by the empowering tagline “Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy.” The program focused on the Election Commission’s commitment to designing citizen-centric electoral processes and ensuring no voter is left behind.
Key Highlights of the Event
- Voters’ Pledge: The ceremony began with the administration of the National Voters’ Day Pledge. Participants, led by senior officials, vowed to uphold the democratic traditions of the country and the dignity of free, fair, and peaceful elections.
- Felicitation of New Voters: In a tradition aimed at encouraging the youth, several first-time voters who recently attained the age of 18 were formally welcomed into the electoral family. They were handed their Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) by the dignitaries on stage.

Best Booth Level Officer (BLO) awards and Best Electoral Practices awards were presented to officials who demonstrated exceptional dedication during the recent Special Summary Revisions (SSR) and local election duties.
Dignitaries’ Address
While addressing the gathering, senior officials from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura, highlighted the state’s consistently high voter turnout, which remains a benchmark for the rest of the country.
“Elections are the biggest festival of a democracy. Our goal is to ensure 100% enrollment of eligible citizens. Today, we don’t just distribute cards; we distribute the power to shape the future of Tripura and India,” remarked one of the key speakers.
Awareness and Digital Initiatives
The program also featured a brief presentation on the technological advancements in the voting process, including the fast-track delivery of EPIC cards and the transparency brought in by 100% webcasting at polling stations. Cultural performances by local artists and students on the theme of “Democratic Rights” added a festive fervor to the evening.
Similar programs were also conducted today at the district and sub-divisional levels across Tripura, ensuring that the message of “Value of Every Vote” reaches every corner of the state, from the urban streets of Agartala to the remote hamlets of the Dhalai and Kanchanpur hills.
