AGARTALA (Banamalipur): The Biplabi Subhas Sangha, a prominent socio-cultural organization located in the Adarsha Pally and College Tila areas under the Banamalipur Assembly constituency, celebrated its 72nd Foundation Day with great fervor today. To mark the milestone, the club organized a series of developmental and humanitarian programs, headlined by a Mega Health Camp and the official launch of a new cleanliness initiative.
Graced by State BJP President
The event was graced by the Hon’ble MP and BJP State President, Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, the MP lauded the club’s seven-decade-long journey of social service.
“Clubs are the heart of our social fabric. Biplabi Subhas Sangha has consistently demonstrated how a local organization can lead from the front in public welfare. Whether it is healthcare or cleanliness, their efforts are in perfect alignment with the state’s vision for a ‘Unnata Tripura’ (Developed Tripura),” MP Rajib Bhattacharjee stated.
Launch of ‘Chief Minister Swachhata Puraskar 2026’
A significant highlight of the day was the inauguration of the ‘Chief Minister Swachhata Puraskar-2026’ (CM Cleanliness Award).
- MP Fund Contribution: Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee announced that this initiative is being funded through his MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds to encourage cleanliness among local businesses, residents, and pedestrians.
- Public Amenities: As part of this drive, the MP highlighted that the project will focus on providing safe and pure drinking water facilities in the busy College Tila market area, benefiting thousands of daily commuters and traders.
Felicitation of Local Icons
In a moving segment of the program, the club honored several ‘Gunijon’ (distinguished citizens) and elders of the Banamalipur area for their lifelong contributions to education, art, and social work. The MP and club officials presented them with mementos and traditional ‘uttariyas’ as a mark of respect.
Mega Health Camp: Focus on Preventive Care
The Mega Health Camp, organized within the club premises, provided free consultations and basic medicines to hundreds of local residents. Specialists from various fields, including general medicine and pediatrics, were present.
- Drug-Free Campaign: During the camp, the MP made a fervent appeal to the local youth and market committee members to remain vigilant against the drug menace.
- Peace & Harmony: He urged the community to keep the College Tila market area free from anti-social activities and to work collectively toward a “Drug-Free Tripura.”
