AGARTALA: In a grand announcement that has set the tone for the upcoming festive season, the iconic Shibnagar Modern Club & Amra Tarun Dal held a press conference today to reveal their theme for Saradotsav 2026. This year, the club is set to transform its premises into a cultural tapestry titled “Ek Najore Tripura” (Tripura at a Glance), aiming to showcase the state’s hidden tourism gems to the world.
Bridging Heritage and Devotion
Addressing the media at the club premises, the executive committee members explained that the 2026 theme is more than just a decorative choice; it is a mission to promote Tripura Tourism. The pandal will serve as a “one-stop destination” where visitors can experience the essence of the state’s historical and natural landmarks.
“Tripura has immense beauty, from the heights of Jampui Hills to the spirituality of Mata Bari. This year, Shibnagar Modern Club will tie all these threads into one single knot. Our theme ‘Ek Najore Tripura’ will allow every devotee who enters our pandal to feel the pride of our state’s heritage,” a club spokesperson stated during the briefing.
What to Expect: Highlights of the Theme
The organizers shared key details about the upcoming installation:
- Miniature Landmarks: The pandal will feature intricate architectural replicas of famous sites such as Ujjayanta Palace, Unakoti, Neermahal, and the Chabimura rock carvings.
- Indigenous Art: Emphasis will be placed on the traditional handloom and handicrafts of Tripura’s various ethnic communities, integrating them into the interior design.
- Eco-Friendly Approach: In line with modern environmental standards, the club reaffirmed that the materials used for the pandal and the idol will be sustainable and eco-friendly.
A Legacy of Social Responsibility
Shibnagar Modern Club, which recently celebrated its 73rd anniversary, has a long history of combining festivities with social causes. The leadership noted that by choosing a tourism-based theme, they hope to boost the local economy and inspire the youth to explore and preserve their roots.
“We want our Saradotsav to be a catalyst for the tourism department. When thousands of people from outside the state visit our pandal, they should leave with a desire to visit the actual locations showcased here,” the committee added.
Preparations in Full Swing
The press conference concluded with the unveiling of the preliminary sketches of the pandal design. The club members invited all citizens and the state administration to support this “Tourism Revolution” through the medium of the state’s biggest festival. With this announcement, Shibnagar Modern Club has once again established itself as a frontrunner in creative and socially conscious puja organizing in Agartala.
