In a swift and successful operation, the Agartala East Police Station has cracked an iPhone theft case within 24 hours of the incident. The police have managed to recover the stolen high-end device and arrested the prime suspect along with two of his associates.
The details of the breakthrough were shared with the media today by Additional SP (Urban) Dhruva Nath during a briefing at the East Police Station.
The Incident: Theft at MBB Club Vicinity
The case originated from a complaint filed by a woman identified as Uttara Nath, a resident of the area adjacent to the MBB Club in Agartala.
- The Complaint: Smt. Nath reported that her iPhone had been stolen from her residence under mysterious circumstances.
- Immediate Action: Following the written complaint, the East Agartala Police initiated a technical investigation, tracking the device’s location and monitoring local suspects.
Police Crackdown and Arrests
Based on secret tip-offs and surveillance, the police first apprehended the primary accused. During the preliminary interrogation, the thief confessed to the crime and led the police to the stolen iPhone.
- Expanding the Net: Upon further questioning, the prime suspect revealed the involvement of two other individuals who had allegedly assisted him in the crime or were planning to help dispose of the stolen property.
- Current Status: All three individuals—the primary thief and his two associates—are currently in police custody.

Addressing the press, Additional SP Dhruva Nath emphasized the department’s commitment to tackling petty crimes and burglaries in the city.
”Our team acted promptly as soon as the complaint was lodged by Smt. Uttara Nath. We have not only recovered the stolen iPhone but also busted a small gang involved in such activities. We are now investigating if they are linked to other recent thefts in the MBB Club and College Tilla areas,” the Additional SP stated.
Public Advisory
The police official urged citizens to remain vigilant and ensure their homes are properly secured. He also requested the public to immediately report any suspicious movement in their neighborhoods to the local police station or via the emergency helpline.
The arrested trio is expected to be produced before the local court tomorrow, where the police will seek further remand for detailed interrogation.
