The festive spirit of Holi reached its peak today at the Bijoy Kumar (BK) Class XII School grounds, where the popular social and cultural group “Rainbow Dhara” organized a grand Holi celebration. The event saw a massive turnout of young men and women from across the city, coming together to celebrate the festival of unity and joy.
Known for organizing youth-centric events, Rainbow Dhara’s Holi festival has become a much-anticipated date on Agartala’s social calendar.
A Celebration of Colors and Youthful Energy
The school premises were transformed into a vibrant arena filled with music, laughter, and a riot of colors.
- Musical Extravaganza: The event featured a high-energy DJ set and live percussionists (Dhols), keeping the crowd on their feet. Youth were seen dancing to the latest Bollywood tracks and traditional Holi songs.
- Color Play: Participants drenched each other in various shades of Gulal and Abir. In line with the group’s yearly tradition, the organizers encouraged the use of safe, non-toxic colors to ensure a skin-friendly celebration.
- Selfie and Reels Mania: Specialized “photo zones” were set up within the school grounds, where attendees captured memories of their color-drenched faces for social media.
The Message of Rainbow Dhara
The organizers emphasized that the event was not just about playing with colors but about fostering friendship and harmony among the younger generation.
”Our goal with Rainbow Dhara is to bring the youth together under one roof. Holi is the perfect occasion to break barriers and celebrate our shared culture. Seeing the smiles and the energy at Bijoy Kumar School today shows how much people value these community gatherings,” a representative of the organizing committee stated.
Safety and Discipline
Given the large gathering, the organizers and school authorities ensured strict discipline:
- Entry Management: Entry was regulated to prevent overcrowding and ensure a safe environment for female participants.
- Volunteer Presence: A dedicated team of volunteers from Rainbow Dhara was stationed across the grounds to assist participants and maintain order.
- No-Toxic Zone: The event maintained a strict policy against the use of chemical paints or harmful substances, promoting a ‘Clean and Green Holi.’
Festive Food and Refreshments
To keep the energy high, various food stalls were set up offering traditional Holi refreshments like Thandai, Guijiya, and other local snacks, adding a culinary delight to the spiritual and social celebration.
The event concluded in the afternoon, leaving the participants with colorful memories and a strengthened sense of community.
