AGARTALA: In a major breakthrough against property theft and urban cybercrime, the West Agartala Police Station has successfully recovered 25 lost mobile phones and a massive cache of stolen gold ornaments. According to official valuation metrics, the market worth of the recovered gold items is estimated to be around ₹35 Lakhs.
Following explicit judicial directives from the local court, the West Tripura District Police organized an official handover ceremony today where the recovered electronic devices and valuable jewelry were systematically returned to their original, legal owners.
Swift Investigation Cracks Two Major Domestic Burglaries
The extensive recoveries are the direct outcome of meticulous cyber-tracking and intensive field raids executed by specialized anti-burglary cells operating under the West Agartala police jurisdiction.
Key Operational Details Outlined by the Directorate:
- The Blueprint Cases: Separate criminal cases were registered at the West Agartala Police Station following two daring household burglaries executed on April 9 and April 23 earlier this year.
- The Crackdown & Arrests: Deploying localized intelligence networks and tracking IMEI numbers of mobile units, investigators successfully intercepted the criminal network, leading to the definitive arrest of 10 accused individuals directly involved in the theft and handling of the stolen goods.
- Asset Handover: After completing standard verification protocols and securing absolute clearance from the judiciary, the recovered valuables were formally lined up and returned to the overjoyed citizens.
“Public Trust Restored Through Aggressive Policing”: SP Namit Pathak
Present at the handover station to personally distribute the items back to the residents, West Tripura Superintendent of Police (SP) Namit Pathak commended the proactive vigilance displayed by the station officers.
”Property theft and mobile snatching directly damage the day-to-day peace of mind of our citizens. Following the register entries of the major break-ins on April 9 and 23, our dedicated teams from the West Agartala Police Station launched a synchronized multi-angle probe. Through continuous technical tracking and strategic raids across suspected receiver networks, we managed to secure the entire cache of stolen gold worth ₹35 Lakhs and trace 25 lost phones.
Arresting 10 individuals in connection with these crimes sends a loud and clear message to criminal syndicates operating in the capital city. Returning these hard-earned assets back to their rightful owners is a matter of immense professional satisfaction for the force. We urge the public to instantly register missing mobile reports on our portal so our cyber wings can track and intercept them effectively,” Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak stated during the press interaction.
Relief and Gratitude Among Capital Residents
The recipients at the station expressed profound gratitude to the Tripura Police administration, noting that they had completely lost hope of ever recovering their family heirlooms and expensive communication devices. Senior officials concluded the press brief by affirming that night patrolling matrices and neighborhood CCTV monitoring networks are being drastically scaled up across vulnerable residential sectors of Agartala to deter future property offenses.
