AGARTALA: Extending critical medical support to the doorstep of the community, the Lotus Club of Shibnagar joined hands with the Lions Club of Agartala City to host a highly successful mega health and wellness camp today. The comprehensive medical camp was organized inside the spacious main auditorium of the Lotus Club complex in the Shibnagar area of the capital city.
The joint humanitarian project drew a massive response from local neighborhoods, with senior citizens, women, and underprivileged families turning up in large numbers to access specialized medical consultations from certified clinical practitioners.
Comprehensive Medical Screening and Support Framework
The core focus of the camp was to provide high-quality diagnostic evaluations for prevalent lifestyle diseases and age-related ailments that frequently go undetected due to high private hospital fees.
Key Medical Services Provided Entirely Free of Cost:
- Advanced Ophthalmic (Eye) Screenings: Experienced ophthalmologists carried out detailed vision testing, cataract identification, and specialized refractive evaluations for the visitors.
- Vital Health & Blood Pressure Audits: Medical volunteers set up dedicated stations to monitor blood pressure levels, blood sugar metrics, and general body mass indexes (BMI) to screen for hypertension and diabetes risks.
- Free Medicine Distribution Counter: Following clinical check-ups, patients were provided with an array of essential medicines, multi-vitamins, and prescribed therapeutic drugs completely free of charge.
NGO Frameworks Uniting for Community Welfare
The social service camp was managed and overseen directly by the central executive committees of both partnering organizations. Senior officials and project coordinators from the Lotus Club and the Lions Club of Agartala City remained present throughout the day to ensure smooth crowd management and a streamlined patient tracking system.
”Our objective behind this joint venture is to bridge the gap between marginal urban communities and basic preventive healthcare. Many elderly residents ignore initial symptoms of high blood pressure or deteriorating eyesight simply to avoid diagnostic expenses.
By bringing specialized clinicians right into their locality and backing it up with free pharmaceutical distribution, we are ensuring that financial constraints do not stop anyone from getting diagnosed. The smiles and relief on the faces of these families today are our biggest reward. Both clubs are already formulating plans to scale up this health grid and host similar micro-diagnostic camps across other sub-urban pockets of West Tripura district in the coming months,” a senior representative of the organizing committee stated during the camp wrap-up briefing.
