AGARTALA | June 21, 2026: Ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga, a mass yoga demonstration and awareness camp was successfully organized today at the National Sports Complex (NSRCC) Yoga Hall in Agartala. The health and wellness initiative was spearheaded by the BJP Bordowali Mandal committee to promote the regular practice of yoga among citizens and youth.
The event was graced by a distinguished panel of top organizational leaders and sports icons, including the BJP Sangathan Mantri (Organization Secretary) for Assam and Tripura provinces, Shri Rabindra Raju.
High-Profile Dignitaries Mobilize Fitness Movement
The morning session witnessed massive participation from local residents, youth front workers, and sports enthusiasts from the running constituency. Joining the Assam-Tripura organization chief on the central mats were BJP State Secretary and former minister Bhagaban Das, along with India’s celebrated Dronacharya Awardee gymnastics coach, Bishweshwar Nandi.
The presence of both political strategists and legendary sports personalities underscored the event’s dual focus on national integration and athletic wellness.
Addressing the gathering, BJP Assam-Tripura Sangathan Mantri Rabindra Raju highlighted how yoga has transitioned from an ancient spiritual practice into a global scientific framework for healthy living, credited largely to the sustained vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
”Yoga represents the cultural and spiritual core of India’s identity. Seeing local mandals like Bordowali actively organizing community-level sessions at the NSRCC proves that wellness has become a grassroots movement in Tripura. We are deeply proud to have sporting legends like Dronacharya Awardee Bishweshwar Nandi here to inspire our youth to embrace regular physical disciplines alongside community service,” Sangathan Mantri Rabindra Raju stated.
Integrating Sports and Wellness Frameworks
Speaking during the technical demonstration, BJP State Secretary Bhagaban Das and Coach Bishweshwar Nandi emphasized the need to introduce basic yoga routines within athletic coaching modules to prevent injuries and reduce performance anxiety among regional sportspersons.
The successful rollout of the Bordowali Mandal event highlighted key highlights:
- Grassroots Outreach: Actively engaging ward commissioners and booth-level committees to drive family participation at public sports complexes.
- Aparajita Modules: Setting up specialized, low-impact breathing and flexible movement groups for senior citizens and women attendees.
- Routine Pledges: Administering collective fitness pledges to participants to dedicate at least twenty minutes daily to holistic health practices.
Certified yoga instructors led the hour-long session, demonstrating standard postures, breathing techniques (pranayama), and stress-management meditation sequences.
