AGARTALA | June 21, 2026: Joining the global celebrations for the 12th International Day of Yoga, a mass yoga demonstration session was successfully organized at the historic Bijoy Kumar Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Agartala today. The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of young students, educators, and local sports fitness enthusiasts.
The morning session was graced by the Honorable Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and local MLA, Shri Dipak Majumder, who participated as the Chief Guest.
Incorporating Yoga for Mental and Physical Well-being
The school premises echoed with spiritual chants as certified instructors guided hundreds of students through a structured series of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and stress-relief meditation techniques.
Sharing the stage with school management committee members and physical education experts, Mayor Dipak Majumder highlighted the critical importance of yoga in navigating the modern digital age.

In today’s fast-paced world, our students face immense academic and digital fatigue. Introducing yoga into the daily routines of academic institutions like Bijoy Kumar School will significantly enhance concentration, discipline, and emotional resilience among our youth,” Mayor Dipak Majumder stated during his address.

The event concluded with an interactive segment where students were educated on the long-term benefits of holistic wellness practices.
