AGARTALA | June 21, 2026: In alignment with a series of state-wide government and private initiatives celebrating the 12th International Day of Yoga, a mass yoga demonstration and awareness camp was successfully organized on Saturday at the Bijoy Kumar Girls’ Higher Secondary School premises. The health and wellness drive was spearheaded by the BJP Ramnagar Mandal committee.
The event aimed to raise healthcare consciousness among local citizens and encourage the community to build a disease-free lifestyle through daily physical training.
High-Profile Leaders Mobilize Local Community
The promotional morning session was graced by the Honorable Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and MLA of the Ramnagar assembly constituency, Shri Dipak Majumder, who attended as the Chief Guest.
Sharing the fitness mats with local residents and party workers were Ramnagar Mandal President Amitabh Bhattacharya, alongside AMC Ward Corporators Snigdha Das Deb and Bhaswati Debbarma, among other prominent civil society figures.
Addressing media personnel at the conclusion of the event, Mayor Dipak Majumder strongly emphasized that yoga must not be confined to a single day of celebration but rather integrated into daily routines.
”Yoga is an invaluable discipline that simultaneously rejuvenates the body, clarifies the mind, and awakens one’s spiritual consciousness. Incorporating these simple exercises into our daily schedules is the most effective shield against contemporary lifestyle diseases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played a visionary role in elevating our ancient heritage to a global platform. Today, we urge our younger generation to embrace regular yoga practice to distance themselves from substance abuse and build a healthier Tripura,” Mayor Dipak Majumder stated during his media interaction.
Massive Grassroots Enthusiasm Observed
The specialized camp witnessed overwhelming participation from booth-level workers, youth front volunteers, and ordinary citizens from across the Ramnagar constituency.
The successful implementation of the school-level session highlighted several key community goals:
- Holistic Social Message: Spreading a unified message of mental resilience and physical well-being across the urban neighborhoods of Agartala.
- Youth Engagement: Leveraging academic venues like the Bijoy Kumar School to systematically introduce corporate and desk-friendly stress-relief exercises to students.
- Preventative Healthcare: Distributing informative literature highlighting how natural lifestyle adaptations can reduce emergency medical expenses for families.
The program concluded with standard protocol posture demonstrations led by certified physical instructors, followed by a joint pledge by all attendees to make holistic wellness a permanent daily habit.
