AGARTALA | June 25, 2026: A high-level state delegation from the All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) Tripura State Committee departed for Kolkata today to participate in the upcoming National Youth Convention. The contingent, comprising key youth leaders, student activists, and regional organizers, boarded the train from Agartala railway station earlier this morning.
The national convention aims to bring together youth delegates from across the country to deliberate on pressing issues, including unemployment, educational reforms, and contemporary socio-economic challenges facing the nation’s youth.
Delegation to Raise Key State Issues on National Platform
Speaking to media persons at the station before their departure, senior leaders of the delegation emphasized that the convention serves as a vital forum to highlight the specific aspirations and challenges of the youth in the Northeast, particularly Tripura.
The representatives plan to actively engage in national policy discussions and share insights from their grassroots campaigns.
”Our delegation is traveling to Kolkata to represent the voices of thousands of young people from Tripura at the National Youth Convention. We will be raising critical issues such as the demand for stable employment frameworks, democratic educational environments, and stronger state support for youth welfare modules. This convention offers an invaluable platform to synchronize our regional struggles with national youth movements for a more constructive and impactful outcome,” an AIDYO state executive member stated.
Key Focus Areas of the Convention
The Tripura chapter of AIDYO has prepared a comprehensive agenda to present during the technical sessions and panel discussions at the Kolkata convention:
- Employment Generation Modules: Advocating for robust, merit-based job creation strategies and fast-tracking pending recruitment processes across various state and central sectors.
- Accessible Higher Education: Stressing the preservation of affordable, high-quality public education systems and resisting commercialization in academic sectors.
- Anti-Addiction Campaigns: Sharing the state’s structural progress on youth-led anti-drug awareness drives and discussing inter-state coordination to shield students from substance abuse.
The delegation is scheduled to return to Agartala next week following the conclusion of the national convention, after which they plan to hold a state-level debriefing session to outline their future action plans.
