Aloke Kumar Chakraborty officially assumed the role of Inspector General of the Tripura Frontier, Border Security Force (BSF) today, taking over from Shri A. K. Sharma, who has been transferred to Manipur.
Shri Chakraborty, a highly decorated officer, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He has been honored with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the UNMIK Medal, and the Ati Utkrisht Sewa Padak for his outstanding contributions to the force.
With a background in both operational and administrative roles, Shri Chakraborty has served in various capacities across the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan borders, as well as in anti-Naxal operations. His diverse experience has equipped him with valuable insights into border security and counter-insurgency operations.
In addition to his field assignments, Shri Chakraborty has also shared his knowledge and expertise as an instructor at prestigious training institutes such as the BSF Academy in Gwalior and the Central School of Weapons and Tactics in Indore. His dedication to training and mentorship has helped shape the next generation of BSF officers.
Furthermore, Shri Chakraborty has broadened his horizons through deputation with the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK). These experiences have enriched his understanding of global security challenges and enhanced his leadership skills.
As he steps into his new role as Inspector General, Shri Chakraborty is poised to lead the Tripura Frontier BSF with dedication, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of border security. His proven track record and exceptional leadership qualities make him a valuable asset to the force, and his appointment has been warmly welcomed by his colleagues and subordinates.
