Agartala, Tripura: Five newly constructed Highway Forest Restrooms located beside National Highways were inaugurated on December 31, 2025, at 3:30 PM by the Hon’ble Minister for Forests, Government of Tripura.
The inauguration was held virtually from the Conference Hall of Forest Headquarters, Aranya Bhavan, Pt. Nehru Complex, Agartala.
The initiative has been undertaken by the Tripura Forest Department with the objective of providing clean, hygienic, and eco-friendly restroom facilities for highway users, including travelers, tourists, and transport workers. These facilities are aimed at improving roadside amenities while maintaining environmental sustainability.
Officials stated that the project reflects the state government’s commitment to public convenience, green infrastructure, and improved civic facilities along National Highways. The Forest Department also emphasized that such initiatives contribute to both environmental conservation and enhanced travel experience across Tripura.
The programme concluded with officials reiterating plans to expand similar eco-friendly infrastructure in other strategic locations across the state.
