AGARTALA | AUGUST 17, 2026: In a significant stride toward turning Tripura into a regional hub for technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, the state government hosted a high-impact workshop titled “Building a Unicorn in Tripura” at Pragna Bhavan.
Organized by the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, in partnership with Hyderabad’s premier innovation catalyst T-Hub, the session featured the official launch of the T-RISE (Tripura Registry & Integration for Startup Ecosystem) Portal.
Highlights & Key Outcomes
- Unveiling of T-RISE Portal: The newly launched digital portal serves as a single-window interface connecting entrepreneurs directly with incubators, over 20 domain mentors, 10+ investment groups, corporate entities, and government departments.
- Disbursement of ₹2.72 Crore Funds: Under the sector-agnostic Tripura Startup Policy, 185+ applications have been submitted, 140 registered, and 70 startups recognized. The state has disbursed ₹2.72 crore in financial support via the Tri-Seed Fund, Proof of Concept (PoC) grants, and operational stipends.
- Strategic Partnerships: Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with HDFC Bank, Amazon Seller Services, and Zoho Corporation to provide local founders with banking services, e-commerce export support, and cloud computing credits.
- Incubation Synergy (T-NEST & T-Hub): Tripura’s state-level incubation unit, T-NEST at Hapania, was linked with T-Hub to enable access to expert mentorship and accelerator programs.
- Industry Insights: T-Hub experts conducted masterclasses on venture growth, while Skyroot Aerospace leadership interacted with participants to share lessons on scaling deep-tech enterprises in India.

Inaugurating the workshop, Minister for Information Technology, Finance, and Planning & Coordination Pranajit Singha Roy reiterated the state’s vision under Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to build an innovation-driven economy.
