AGARTALA | AUGUST 26, 2026: Continuing its long-standing tradition, the Modern Club, located near Bhattapukur-Nagerjala in Agartala, organized its ceremonial Khuti Puja (auspicious pole worship) to mark the formal commencement of pandal construction for the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
Speaking at the ceremony, club officials announced a total budget of ₹14 lakh for this year’s festival, promising an attractive theme and traditional cultural arrangements for visitors across the city.

- Formal Launch with Khuti Puja: Following age-old customs, club members, local elders, and organizers performed sacred Vedic rituals and worshiped the wooden pole to kick off preparations for the festive season.
- ₹14 Lakh Budget Allocation: Organizers revealed that the ₹14 lakh budget will be utilized toward crafting a unique pandal design, artistic lighting, idol customization, and security arrangements.
- Focus on Social Service & Community Inclusion: In keeping with its civic tradition, the Modern Club management announced plans to host social service drives, cultural programs, and community feasts (Mahaprasad) during the multi-day festivities.
- Safety & Crowd Management: The club leadership assured that adequate safety measures, fire prevention mechanisms, and volunteer teams will be deployed to manage the heavy footfall expected at the Nagerjala-Bhattapukur junction during festival days.
