Rainwater Dispute Erupts into Violence
A dispute over rainwater between two families in Chrilam Aralia escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in multiple injuries. The incident occurred early Saturday morning and has led to both families filing complaints at the Bishalgarh police station and the Bishalgarh women’s police station.
According to reports, a minor rainfall event early Saturday morning triggered the clash. Rainwater from Sohel Alam’s house was allegedly flowing rapidly into the property of his neighbor, Hannan Hussain. Hannan Hussain’s mother, Peyara Begum, attempted to create a barrier to prevent the water from entering their property.
This action reportedly led to a violent reaction from Sohel Alam and his family members, including Didar Hossain, Moynal Mia, Mina Begum, and Aryan Hossain. The accused allegedly attacked Peyara Begum with sticks.
Upon seeing the attack on his mother, Hannan Hussain’s father, Tahed Mia, rushed to the scene. The accused then allegedly attacked Tahed Mia and Hannan Hussain with sticks, resulting in injuries to all three.
The injured individuals were quickly taken to the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
Reports indicate that the accused also physically assaulted Peyara Begum, attempted to outrage her modesty by tearing her clothes, and stole her gold chain. This has caused significant tension in the area.
Peyara Begum has filed a complaint at the Bishalgarh women’s police station, accusing the attackers of assault and attempted outrage of modesty. Hannan Hussain has also filed a complaint at the Bishalgarh police station against the accused.
