AGARTALA: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha kicked off the state’s 77th Republic Day celebrations this morning by unfurling the National Tricolour at his official residence in Agartala. The ceremony, held with traditional fervor and dignity, was attended by senior officials, security personnel, and members of the Chief Minister’s staff.
A Proud Moment for the State
Following the flag hoisting and the rendition of the National Anthem, the Chief Minister extended his warmest greetings to the people of Tripura and the rest of the country. He emphasized that Republic Day is a reminder of the monumental strength of the Indian Constitution, which provides the foundation for the nation’s progress.
“On this 77th Republic Day, we reaffirm our commitment to the values of justice, liberty, and equality enshrined in our Constitution. As we move toward the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Tripura is playing a proactive role in ensuring inclusive growth for every citizen. My best wishes to all my brothers and sisters of the state,” Dr. Manik Saha stated.
Focus on ‘Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura’
Speaking to the press representatives present at his residence, the Chief Minister highlighted that his government is working tirelessly to transform Tripura into a model state. He noted that the “Double-Engine” government’s focus remains on:
- Youth Empowerment: Creating a self-reliant generation through skill development and education.
- Infrastructure: Expanding connectivity to make Tripura the gateway to Southeast Asia.
- Social Harmony: Maintaining peace and unity among all ethnic and religious communities in the state.
State-Level Main Event
Immediately after the ceremony at his residence, the Chief Minister proceeded to the Assam Rifles Ground (Astable Ground) to attend the main state-level Republic Day function. At the central event, the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, unfurled the National Flag and received the ceremonial salute from various marching contingents, including the TSR, Tripura Police, and NCC.
The morning celebrations at the CM’s residence set a patriotic tone for the day, which will be followed by various cultural programs, sports events, and the “At Home” reception at Raj Bhavan later this evening.
