AGARTALA | June 14, 2026: To mark World Blood Donor Day, a grand state-level program was organized today at the Pragna Bhawan auditorium in Agartala. The event aimed to honor regular donors, raise awareness about the life-saving importance of blood donation, and boost the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
The program was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, who attended as the chief guest. He was accompanied by senior health department officials, medical professionals, and social workers dedicated to blood safety campaigns.
Chief Minister Applauds Donors and Calls for Youth Participation
During the formal session, several regular individual donors and voluntary organizations were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to maintaining adequate blood supplies in state-run blood banks.
In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha—himself a medical professional—stressed that blood cannot be manufactured artificially and that voluntary donation remains the single most powerful act of humanity.
”Blood donation is a noble service that directly saves lives. I extend my deepest gratitude to our regular donors and organization camp organizers who work tirelessly on the ground. While Tripura has a strong culture of voluntary blood donation, I urge our youth and student community to come forward in even larger numbers to completely eliminate any deficit in our hospital blood banks,” Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stated.
Boosting Institutional Blood Storage and Delivery Channels
Health officials present at the seminar outlined the state government’s ongoing efforts to modernize blood separation units, introduce advanced storage equipment, and streamline emergency delivery channels across all sub-divisional hospitals.
The event concluded with an interactive awareness session and a voluntary blood donation camp set up within the Pragna Bhawan complex, where dozens of citizens and administrative staff members immediately stepped forward to donate blood.
