WEST ANANDANAGAR | July 10, 2026: In a massive boost to rural housing and the saturation of central welfare schemes, the dreams of hundreds of underprivileged families turned into reality today under the 18-Suryamaninagar Assembly Constituency. In a grand distribution ceremony organized by the West Anandanagar Gram Panchayat, formal housing sanction letters under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) were handed over directly to nearly 500 genuine rural beneficiaries.
The mega-distribution drive was led by the Chief Guest of the event, the Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and local MLA, Shri Ramprasad Paul.
Delivering Dignity Through Permanent Housing
The extensive distribution camp reflects the double-engine administration’s fast-tracked mission to convert all remaining kutcha mud houses in the suburban and rural border tracts into permanent, weather-resistant concrete homes.
Sharing the administrative stage with the Deputy Speaker to oversee the smooth distribution of the official central approval certificates were several prominent regional dignitaries, including:
- Shri Bhulan Saha, Chairman of the Dukli Rural Development (RD) Block.
- The Pradhan of West Anandanagar Gram Panchayat.
- Senior line-department officials and block development inspectors from the Dukli RD office.
The event saw hundreds of rural women and marginalized families queueing up early in the morning to receive their official work orders, which will systematically disburse construction funds directly into their linked bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) phases.
”A permanent home is not just an asset of bricks and mortar; it is the ultimate foundation of human dignity, safety, and social security. Under the clear, pro-poor vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, our administration is working tirelessly to eliminate housing disparity. Today, by handing over 500 PMAY sanction letters here in West Anandanagar, we are ensuring that the poorest of the poor no longer have to spend sleepless nights under leaking plastic sheets during these heavy monsoon downpours. Our selection process has been completely transparent, free from political favoritism or middlemen, ensuring that the benefits reach the exact, rightful hands,” Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul stated during his address.
Beneficiaries Express Relief Amid Festive Atmosphere
The panchayat compound wore a festive look as hundreds of smiles broke out across the faces of the recipient families upon receiving their official stamped documents. For many elderly citizens and daily-wage laborers, the sanction letter marked the end of a decades-long struggle to build a secure, permanent address for their future generations.
The Dukli RD Block Chairman, Bhulan Saha, briefed the gathering on the technical timeline, advising beneficiaries to coordinate closely with village housing inspectors to ensure speedy construction and timely release of subsequent financial installments without any bureaucratic delays.
